The 15th annual Dead Money Open started the week off with a Super Satellite which gave 9 luck players a free buy-in to the yearly event. The main event which moved to Super Bowl weekend ended with 105 entries. The tournament paid the top 12 players and ended in a six way chop with the players splitting close to $9000. The Dead Money Open started in 2004 and has given out more than a quarter of a million dollars in prize money and raised thousands of dollars for sponsor West Fargo Hockey Association.

The Wahpeton Vets Club hosted a tournament Saturday Feb 2 and had 53 entries. Dean Ellingson took home a first place prize of $1500. Congratulations to all the players that cashed in both tournaments this weekend.

Don't forget that Saturday Feb 9 is the first day of the Cactus Jacks open weekend. Saturday will have a $100 buy-in event and survivor tournament on demand. Sunday will have the $200 buy-in main event and survivor tournaments. This is another yearly event that always brings out a nice crowd.
